Metro Consulting Associates (MCA) delivered land surveying and civil engineering expertise for the development of the new Midwest Shooting Center in Mishawaka, Indiana. From concept through detailed design, our team performed boundary, topographic, and ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, followed by permitting support, preliminary site plans, and detailed site plans for this 1.65-acre development.
Flexing our multi-state capacity, our site development team led the project from our Plymouth, Michigan headquarters and expertly navigated municipal permitting and site challenges.
While working with SFV Services, the project’s general contractor, and Midwest Shooting Center, our team remained supportive and adaptable throughout the permitting process. This included delaying our submittal for review until a town hall meeting was held to gain broader community understanding and support.
A unique project challenge was improper pond drainage due to a thick clay layer on the site. To resolve this, MCA’s design included a 32-foot-deep, 24-inch standpipe in the pond to penetrate beyond the clay layer. Additionally, the design includes an emergency overflow into a storm network.
With construction started in February 2026, we anticipate completion by October 2026.
