Metro Consulting Associates (MCA)’s renewable energy team is providing ecological consulting, land surveying, and civil engineering services for a 100MW, four-hour utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) facility in Jackson County. With construction underway, our team is serving as the Engineer of Record and is focused on reviewing submittals and responding to contractor requests for information (RFIs).
MCA’s ecological team collaborated with our geographic information systems (GIS) experts to complete an integrated ecological desktop review map, accompanied by an executive summary. The team’s findings were used to route the overhead generation tie-line to avoid impacting wetlands regulated by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE).
MCA’s land surveying team performed ALTA/NSPS Land Title and topographic surveys. Our civil engineering team is responsible for providing concept plans, permitting support, site plans, landscape architecture, and construction drawings throughout the project. Additionally, MCA is performing overall project coordination, including oversight of the geotechnical testing subconsultant.
