With initial funding from the state of Michigan Stormwater, Asset Management, and Wastewater (SAW) grant program, Metro Consulting Associates (MCA) performed sewer pipeline assessments and manhole inspections. After assessing data, the team provided NASSCO-supported deliverables in addition to a comprehensive geographic information system (GIS) asset management plan for the City of Saginaw’s combined sewer system.
MCA’s NASSCO-licensed operators utilized in-house CCTV equipment to completed pipeline assessments, which integrated with Pipelogix software. The team completed manhole inspections with pole-cam and handheld tablet computers using the Esri Collector App and Portal for ArcGIS.
Data deliverables included fully integrated videos and photos of MACP and PACP assessments to be easily integrated with the city’s GIS system. The team worked with project partners to define collection system business risk exposure and review life cycle cost evaluations.
Following initial program standardization, MCA continues to provide yearly asset management and GIS maintenance for the city.
