As representatives for the Highland Park Water & Engineering Department, Metro Consulting Associates is part of the winning multi-stakeholder team working with the Department of Energy (DOE) to help Highland Park create community-wide action plans that reduce local air pollution, increase energy resilience, lower utility costs and energy burdens, and provide long-term jobs and economic opportunity.
Traversed by the Frank & Poet Drain, much of the 80-acre site is located within the 100-year floodplain. Metro Consulting Associates prepared plans and obtained a permit from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes & Energy (EGLE) to raise the outparcels above the floodplain and to lower undeveloped portions of the site to provide stormwater management and counterbalance floodplain variation.
