Utilizing geographic information systems (GIS), Metro Consulting Associates (MCA) identified and analyzed potential convenience store development sites across southeast Michigan. Conducting a comprehensive site suitability analysis across seven counties, MCA assessed approximately 1.8 million parcels against client-specific criteria, including minimum acreage requirements, traffic volumes, property values, and zoning regulations that permitted 24-hour operations.
MCA developed a series of maps identifying potential sites and displaying property ownership, zoning, land use, and aerial imagery. The analysis narrowed thousands of potential parcels to 21 eligible sites, providing the client with a targeted list of development opportunities and a visual assessment of the surrounding conditions at each location.
By transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable insights, MCA streamlined the client’s site selection process and focused development efforts on locations that aligned with the client’s business requirements. Through advanced spatial analysis, market screening, and data integration, MCA accelerated decision-making and supported efficient development planning.
