Cityworks Customization and Hydrant Inspection
Quick Facts
- Established Cityworks hydrant inspection program for the City of Sterling Heights
- Completed the program within three months
Project Summary
Using Cityworks, Metro Consulting Associates (MCA) optimized the City of Sterling Heights’ hydrant inspection program and improved overall asset management. Our team streamlined efficient documentation, tracking, and completion of hydrant inspection forms, work orders, and service requests.
MCA provided customized and user-friendly service requests and work order layouts for custom group users by organizing the fields in a collapsed group view or hiding fields that are invaluable to the custom User Group.
Our team also created a hydrant inspection form, which recorded observations such as painting conditions, operational status, pressure testing, etc. This provided GIS-centric asset management and streamlined the workflow for follow-ups with repair or replacement work orders.
To accommodate the city’s IT security restrictions preventing remote access to the Cityworks XML file directory, MCA completed the necessary modifications by working on-site at the client’s office to ensure compliance with security protocols.
The establishment of this program enhanced operational efficiency, structured workflow within Cityworks, and improved asset management for the City of Sterling Heights with innovative solutions.
