Metro Consulting Associates President Selected to Serve as Expert Panelist in MI-AWWA Water Affordability Series

Metro Consulting Associates (MCA), a multifaceted energy, land, and community development firm, today announced that President Damon L. Garrett, PE, joins a group of expert panelists assembled by the Michigan Section of the American Water Works Association (MI-AWWA) as part of their water affordability education series. Garrett will share his expertise on public engagement as it relates to water affordability during a webinar on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 9:00 AM EST.

“Access to clean, affordable water is an ongoing challenge for many water systems, especially those in underserved communities, because of the age of the infrastructure, cost of maintaining or replacing fully depreciated assets, and complexities that extend beyond the water department such as a diminishing tax base,” stated Garrett. “Public engagement and representation are critical inputs when developing water affordability policies and programs. I’m honored to collaborate with other water professionals and MI-AWWA members in our thinking and approach to this complex issue.”

Geared towards Michigan water system professionals, the MI-AWWA series is free to its members and includes educational webinars and forums to expand the dialogue about water affordability.
