Metro Consulting Associates Expands Renewable Energy and ROW Acquisition Teams

Hires Project Managers Eric Geerlings, PE, and Gail Morton to bolster expertise

Metro Consulting Associates (MCA), a multifaceted energy, land, and community development firm, today announced the addition of two project managers to enhance the firm’s core expertise and existing team capabilities. Eric Geerlings, PE, joins MCA as Renewable Energy Project Manager and Gail Morton joins as Right of Way Acquisition Project Manager.

About Eric Geerlings
Geerlings joins MCA with more than a decade of engineering and development consulting experience and a passion for expanding renewable energy production via utility scale, distribution level, and point of use projects. As a Renewable Energy Project Manager, he is responsible for delivering wind, solar, and battery storage projects from initial feasibility through post-construction monitoring.

Previously, Geerlings served as Project Engineer with engineering consulting firm Tetra Tech and as Environmental Engineer with sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy firm Arcadis. A licensed professional engineer in Michigan and Texas, Geerlings earned his MBA from Houston Baptist University and his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering with a civil/ environmental concentration from Calvin University.

About Gail Morton
Morton brings 24 years of right of way (ROW) acquisition experience to the team, with expertise in negotiations, relocations, and purchases for road and utility projects, including the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). As a ROW Acquisition Project Manager, she oversees all project requirements, quality control of legal documents and accounting reports, and staff resources.

Before joining MCA, Morton worked with several ROW and land management organizations including Michiana Land Services, Inc., Devon Title Agency, and Wightman & Associates, to name a few.

A known leader in the field, Morton is Chapter 7 (Michigan) President of the International Right of Way Association (IRWA), a Michigan licensed real estate broker, and MDOT certified for ROW Acquisition. She is the recipient of the Michigan IRWA 2021 Professional of the Year Award.
