Saline Township Battery Energy Storage System

Performing professional ecological consulting, land surveying, and civil engineering services, Metro Consulting Associates (MCA) is charging ahead on a new 100MW, four-hour Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Saline Township.

Our land surveying team performed ALTA/NSPS Land Title and topographic surveys on the project’s 54-acre site. The ecological team completed a wetland delineation, threatened and endangered species review, and pre-application meeting with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). MCA also performed subconsultant oversight regarding cultural and Phase 1 Environmental ESA, as well as geotechnical/hydrotechnical testing.

Throughout the project, the civil engineering team is responsible for concept planning, site plans, permitting support, landscape architecture with accompanying renderings, and infiltration testing for the Washtenaw County Water Resource Commission.

With earthwork commencing in the end of November, we anticipate that this project will be completed by late 2026.
