Metro Consulting Associates (MCA), a civil engineering, surveying and land planning consulting firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented self-starter to join our staff as Project Development Manager in our Cincinnati, OH office.

Position Description

The Project Development Manager is responsible for understanding service offerings, developing and maintaining client relationships, coordinating, and implementing plans designed to increase existing business and secure new business opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create business opportunities through contact calls
  • Use industry resources to source, identify, research, and qualify prospects
  • Conduct discovery and research to uncover prospective clients’ interests, needs, and critical success factors
  • Evaluate upcoming opportunities, RFP’s, clients, and bidding situations
  • Prepare and coordinate industry conference attendance and research
  • Network to create new industry connections across all company service areas
  • Foster relationships among existing clients in order to identify additional business opportunities
  • Research new markets and opportunities
  • Maintain proposal log; prepare updates for staff and management
  • Prepare weekly business development update
  • Work internally with project managers to engage with existing clients and develop future opportunities
  • Provide direction and insight to project managers and project coordinators for business development support
  • Establishing project objectives by collaborating with clients and management
  • Develop project proposals
  • Solidify contractual relationship with client by negotiating and obtaining signed contracts prior to commencing work; establishing a project plan, determining timeframes, budgets, staffing and project schedule; organizing project team; assembling and directing team members; assigning responsibilities; negotiating and contracting with approved sub-consultants
  • Foster relationship with client; develop future business with new and existing clients by providing marketing support and presentations, following up on outstanding proposals, and proactively building and maintaining relationships
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through professional development and networking
  • Maintain exceptional internal and external client relations
  • Achieve performance objectives and financial metrics (see Key Performance Indicator document)
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales/marketing or related field or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry
  • Minimum five (5) years applicable experience
  • Professional license a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to the corporate office as well as local clients and project sites
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate design solutions and interact directly with clients
  • Excellent concentration and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams including technical and non-technical personnel
  • Resourceful, action-oriented, creative, and analytical thinker
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines as well as balance multiple projects by prioritizing effectively
  • Strong planning, organization, preparation, and execution capabilities

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Office setting
  • Regularly required to sit
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time across multiple states
  • Frequently lifts or moves objects up to 20 pounds
