Metro Consulting Associates (MCA), a civil engineering, surveying, and land planning consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented self-starter to join our staff as Marketing Manager in our Plymouth, MI office.

Position Description

The Marketing Manager will serve as visionary to create and lead marketing initiatives firm-wide, including development and coordination of all marketing projects, branded items, graphic concepts/designs, written content (including all company social media, marketing collateral, publications, web, email, and internal communications), events, and research.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Marketing material content
    • Develop, update, and lead marketing material for existing and new service offerings at MCA
    • Support in unifying marketing material across all MCA disciplines
      • Maintain consistent MCA message
      • MCA logo & appearance
      • MCA stationary & content
    • Organize and maintain marketing information, including:
      • Photographs
      • Content
      • Proposal/RFP packages
      • Internal and External Newsletters
      • PowerPoint presentations
      • MCA Blog/social media
      • Printed materials
      • Exhibition materials & MCA promotional items
      • Questionnaires
      • All other marketing images and/or documents
    • Social media oversight
      • Review, coordinate, support and oversight for the appearance of content by MCA as a firm. This may include media developed internally by the marketing manager or others within MCA
      • Support, direct, and lead content generation
      • Engage with staff, clients, and customers of MCA media outlets
    • Conference/exhibition/outreach support
      • Maintain conference/event calendar
      • Maintain/renew association memberships
      • Support and prepare marketing strategies for conferences with MCA attendees
      • Update and improve exhibition materials (as needed)
      • Order and maintain conference promotional items
      • Develop and maintain conference/sponsorship attendance checklist
      • Develop and maintain conference budgets and historical data
    • MCA website
      • Update and maintain MCA website through collaboration with MCA leadership
      • Present new ideas for content improvement
    • Marketing Strategy and Research
      • Prepare marketing strategies alongside MCA executives and staff
      • Analyze market trends and recommend changes to marketing and business development strategies
      • New markets (geographic, industry specific)
      • New services
      • Partnering opportunities
    • Public relations/outreach
      • Oversight and support for press releases, advertisements, and other marketing materials
      • Oversight and support for mass mailing (email), internal and external newsletters
      • Support company culture with coordination of company events
    • Support the creation and maintenance of budgets for marketing and business development initiatives, including promotional items, conferences, updated social media & website content, and printed materials
    • Work with the Director of Business Development to further the outreach of MCA offices and staff, locally and regionally
    • Work with MCA leadership to support, interview, and/or recommend future staffing needs in the growth of the firm
    • Achieve performance objectives and financial metrics (see Key Performance Indicator document)
    • All other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, public relations or related field, including graphic design and practical work experience
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in a marketing role
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the A/E/C industry
  • Working knowledge of social media trends and industry best-practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with WordPress & SharePoint
  • Strong research skills; quick learner; ability to comprehend complex technical information
  • Deadline-driven with strong project management skills
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to the corporate office as well as local clients and event venues
  • Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to assess and implement best practices to use with internal and external clients to effectively understand project goals and deliverables
  • Ability to cultivate strong professional relationships with internal and external clientele
  • Work collaboratively in diverse teams including executive, technical and non-technical personnel
  • Detail orientated, resourceful, self-motivated, creative, and analytical thinker
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines as well as balance multiple projects by prioritizing effectively
