At MCA we are always looking ahead — to the next project, the next deadline, the next client. But in order to look forward you have to take time out to look back too.

What worked this year?

What didn’t?

Did we learn valuable lessons to take us to the next level?

2015 was all about diversification and growth at MCA. We took on some lofty goals and have some great successes to celebrate and position us for the future, including:

  • 10% growth in revenue
  • 800% growth in Land Management group business and significant project opportunities in our GIS group
  • Establishment of Ft. Wayne office with permanent staff on site
  • Growth of several energy-related clients
  • Diversification of Engineering team/clients with emphasis on municipal engineering and SAW grants
  • Return of wind farm development with projects located throughout the Midwest

Those achievements would not be possible without the commitment MCA makes hiring the best people for the job and we continued to be selective and strategic with the key hires we made in 2015. Having the right team in place is paramount for our continued growth and I am pleased to share that we already have multiple projects lined up for Pipeline, Transmission, Wind, Engineering and Surveying in 2016!

Since we started in 2009, MCA has reached higher (Yes, I borrowed that from Mark Dantonio and the MSU Spartans!). We certainly had challenging times, but our group took on those challenges and continued to push the envelope in every way.

Enough looking back.

Time to look ahead to 2016 where MCA will strive to make the ENR Top 500 Firm list — in only 7 short years! It’s another one of those lofty goals, but with this team I am confident we can get there.

I wish you all a wonderful holiday season and look forward to continued success in 2016!
